Freedom by Design (FBD) is a community-based design committee inside of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS). As a designer, project manager, and finally director of the committee, my FBD chapter was able to design and build modular outdoor furniture for the Robert Treat Academy Schools in Newark, NJ.
Our methods of manufacturing included sketching, 3D modeling, CNC cutting, painting, and finally assembling.
FBD allows students to earn Architecture Experience Program (AXP) credit towards their NCARB architectural licensing requirements.
